I am currently abroad and facing issues and error with my o2 android app. Has anyone else had any issues?

Yes, the same issue was reported by @paulbacon last week I believe?

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

There was an issue with the iOS version yesterday as for an hour or so I couldn’t access it. I didn’t think you could use it abroad

Yes, usually you can use it abroad just the same as at home.

I just tried this on my iPhone (iOS12) using various VPN tunnels as an experiment. I tried France, Germany, Australia - All gave the same "something went wrong error".

 

But, when switched to a UK tunnel it works. One for the tech team to look at, some kind of "location" issue / restriction?!

 

@b4u2  you could try a UK VPN tunnel and see if it works.

Yea seems to be an issue when using abroad. I wonder if it needs a data connection (i had data roaming turned off as i was in Ethiopia) to find your account details.

Interesting, in my trials the app works with just a wifi connection, ie mobile data turned off. However, there does seem to be some location checking going off either / or using IP address data or the phones location services. I cannot unpick this though, the O2 tech team need to unravel it upside_down
