friends and family 30% discount

i'm on the friends and family staff discount @ 30% off a 30 day rolling simplicity contract... (they said they could offer this money off for up to 10 friends and family)

now... I was the partner of a staff member at the time but we've no longer together...

i've been told I need him present to upgrade the simplicity 'contract' to a 18 month contract plus phone...

is this true? or is there a way around it

just to add a note, i did say i would give up the discount when we broke up but they insisted that i kept it (as they had 10 'offers' to give), so please no flaming about it slight_smile

I got a card from the company i work for 6 months ago. But i have read in a few places, that this 30% off line rental is no longer available. Is this right?

Yes, that is right, you will get a £75 credit instead.

Dee, I believe you only need his employee number as Wanty said. You have to call staff accounts to upgrade.

see im having the problem to but i called o2 up and they said that you should be able to get it on the iphone4 all you need is a new code and staff id. Im planning on going there tomorrow and find out what happens!

im in same position, abou tto upgrade but they have said that i need to contact the person who gave me the discount, which i cant ,
if i go thru the shop , would they allow me to keep my discount or not?

Just out of interest. When I upgraded my 30% discount simply carried on and I had no need to have it reapplied. I think it may be the difference between upgrading your existing account, and starting a brand new one. If it's a new account you would be given a new phone number or have to move your old one. If it's just an upgrade your number and sim (and discount) just carry on as before but with the new tariff.

The store should remove it so you can reapply it again in case you're no longer entitled to it. More often than not, they don't.
