Hi,

I’ve just received what I suspect to be scam text message from number 066 0432 7135.

The text message read <my mobile number>, you received (1) new photo with a short URL link. I won’t post the link here incase anyone accidentally clicks on it!

Is this a scam? I didn’t click on the link and I’ve blocked the number in addition to deleting the text message. Is this sufficient to protect my phone?

Thanks!

@LivCR you've done the right thing by not clicking the link and this is sufficient to protect your phone too.

Nothing can happen unless the link is activated.

@LivCR  As whoever sent you that text now has your number, expect more of the same. You just have to not respond and block the numbers. This link might help you as well: https://www.o2.co.uk/help/safety-and-security/unwanted-calls-and-messages

Hi @LivCR

There are many scams out there.

Really great you didn't click on link.

Stay really alert.

Have you put a bar on premium rate numbers

and bar all direct to bill debits to your phone

Call Customer Services  ~

if not this would be worth considering there are tips
