No access to Network

Hello. My phone says 'No access to network' which has never happened to me before. Is there an issue with o2's network? Anyone else with this problem? Or is it something to just do with me?

I can't even ring o2 to tell them! Any advice?

Hi guys!
There has been a network failure at a YATEs point where construction work has knocked off the power. The whole of the O2 network in the UK is having problems due to this and have no timescales to when this will be fixed. Customer services had over a thousand people in the queue by the time it got to 8:45pm and most advisors would have been unaware until this point.
The outage has also affected Orange and Vodafone networks.
😆

Hey MilkBottle,
How did you get this information?

I was on the receiving end of people saying that their phones aren't working.

The only thing to do is not renew our contracts when they come up. It's the only thing they'd listen to. The outage itself is understandable but when will companies realise it's the ignoring customers and not acknowledging the problems that's the most annoying. There should be a big banner on the O2 homepage explaining the network is down and when it's likely to be up. That's not asking a lot; it's just basic, minimal, expected customer service.

As it stands most people won't even realise there's a problem until they try to call or text someone. My Nokia E75 (the worst phone I've ever had the misfortune to own but that's another story and not O2's fault!) is showing the network O2 - UK and full strength on the 3G meter- if O2 to make it clear the network's down I'd never know - what if someone was trying to contact us they'd just get a dead signal and we'd never even know.

O2 would be better turning the network off completely so it shows as NO NETWORK so at least we'd be aware it's down; and then we could go to their homepage and see the information.

Anyone at O2 listening? Anyone at O2 got even the slightest way of conducting customer-facing operations?

Another PAYG user here in Birmingham, actually 3 of us in the same household and neither of us can make any calls.

You might think a network as large as 02 would have contingency plans for instances such as these, it would seem not :robotindifferent:

Grrrrrrr! At least I know it's not just me - been trying to ring and also to get the coverage page up for AGES. Finally thought to check the forums and I'm relieved to find it isn't my phone at fault.

I'm PAYG and in the B'ham area, btw. I think mine's been down since about 8pm - not too sure.

Really frustrating!
