Hi guys,
Let's talk about the fact that O2 have begun to stock O2 Broadband Dongles!
They're available in Pay Monthly and Pay & Go. Check out if the link below for more info:
Click here for more O2 Broadband Dongle info!
As these products are fairly new, we wanted to hear from you all on your general dongle thoughts. Do you use a dongle or have in the past? If so, when is the most useful time to fire one up? DO you use them often when travelling around the world? We want to hear from you!
We’ll potentially have a few of these devices available for testing, so it would be great to get all of your general thoughts on mobile broadband

But we lived through and coped with "up to 8Mbs" and then "up to 16Mbs" with all it's infrastructure restrictions for home broadband.

I've got an old O2 Huawei E173 dongle.
Best thing about the Huawei dongles is, there easy to unlock & reflash, debranded firmware & unlocked mine for any network now, it gets rid of the O2 self install client as well
Its currently got an EE sim in it.
I did try a Giff Gaff sim in it, what a total waste of time that was.

I am not a fan of Dongles having previously owned a non expiring credit one on Vodafone, combined with poor network coverage its performance was very poor.
I changed to a MiFi unit on the 3 network (O2 used to have a similar one but payg set up was not as good as 3s) This has been brilliant coverage in areas where you would think a no hoper and the fact I can top up and then not use for a period suits me fine.
So much so I am seriously thinking about doing away with the landline at home and using the MiFi router (on contract) which can handle 4 or 5 items ie: PC, Printer etc.
When we go away it would come with us so there would be no cash wasted on "line rental".
I am now waiting to see what 3s 4G coverage at home is like when they come to the area with it. If similar to O2s 4G coverage it will be faster than the existing landlines broadband and will update to a later router which can handle upto 10 or 11 items.
Things may change of course and we will see if the take over has developed by the end of the year and O2 inherit some of 3s benefits

Thanks as ever for your great responses guys.
A few more questions for you all:
Have you taken a look at the O2 Mobile Broadband pages?
Do they contain enough information?
Is the information clear enough?
Are the great benefits clearly explained?
Are the reviews useful?
Is there anything missing?
We want to ensure its as good as it can be.

Very strange, wasn't there very long was it? Maybe supply has dried up but readily available no doubt elsewhere.
