Been with o2 for a long time.

I have been with o2 for a long time now ( In fact from when it was Martin Dawes ), and I have never had a problem with them. Change my contract, not a problem. Change my phone, not a problem. Change my number, not a problem. Etc etc etc.
I also have the broadband and now the home phone and again...NOT A PROBLEM!
The reason why i'm telling you this is because I have read alot of threads on this forum and a vast amount of them have been about how bad o2 is. But the majority of problems have actually been caused by you the consumer.
Don't get me wrong, the people that work for o2 are not perfect, but please realise if you give them the correct information and ask the right questions you will have a better chance of things working out for you.
Also get some knowledge before you do something to your phone, or ask about tariffs, etc. It will help!
Good luck to you all. slight_smile

I have to agree to some measure, as about two thirds of the complaints and problems posted here do seem to be self inflicted to some degree.

Failing that many seem to think they can demand a service or facility that is not provided.

Fortunately many of these are answered by the more knowledgeable on here, and don't even get as far as O2.

It always puzzles me when someone posts in what can only be described as a blind rage, over something that's sorted out very simply.

A sign of the times perhaps.

In the main I would agree with you and I have often said so on here. I have been a customer for 13 years and have more than 10 contracts with them in one form or another.

However like any big organisation, if you do have a problem, the route to a solution will depend on how well you as an individual are informed and to some extent luck of the draw in terms of who you end up talking to at o2.

I think you miss one element to this though and that is most of these forums are either used by people to discuss policy changes and general gripes, or for people to post issues they have, looking for help. Most people are unlikely to join a forum simply to sing the praises of an organisation they have no issue with. Therefore by definition the content of these forums will be weighted to the negative point of view.

You seem to be of much the same opinion as me really, we all know if you've ever worked in any office, some will deal quite expertly with situations and some you can't trust to make the tea.

It would be a sad old world if we were all the same. slight_smile

I notice the OP has been moderated for being rude to CS staff.

Perksie - As a matter of interest how do you know the OP has been moderated. Are you just noticing that the post has changed since you first read it, or is there an actual marker somewhere. I never have figured that one out.

I was not being rude I was being truthful. wink
Still if it has offended someone, then I apologise and will try not to insult anyone in the future.
Cheers.

What you said was insulting, where I come from that's rude.

It's easy to attack people who do not have the facility to answer you back.

I wonder if you would have said that if you were face to face, I doubt it.

It is rude if you direct it at someone in particular.

What I have said is not a matter of attacking anyone, it's a matter of explaining to people that there are certain other people who are in a job for which they are not suited to. So therefore if you have that knowledge and understanding then you can deal with the situation in an appropriate manner. Unfortunate but again, true!
