Just one fact you have wrong o2 have not been taken over by sky they only sold the home broadband / phone customers telefonica still own the o2 mobile network.
Raise a formal complaint as per the code of conduct as we are all customers here like you.

Hi Paris.
As 02 do not provide real time status reports and cover themselves in T&C's small print I understand your frustration.
If the mast ststus reports continue to say all is fine then you can continue to report that these masts are not in your opinion operating correctly.
Do try removing your sim and giving it a wipe as ststic does occur on the sims causing issues too.
I hope the situation resolves for you quickly.

But micham shows mast issues.
Have you tried turning 3g off on the iphone to see if it still gets a 2g signal at least sms and calls will work.
