No signal

For the past month, i have had no signal or one bar of signal, i checked the 02 status, nothing, i called "customer
Service" who dont know the meaning of the word, who told me contrary to the 02 service status report that SEVEN masts were down all around my local area, and they could not tell me when they would be fixed, but said it could be up to 10 days with no service at all. i asked if we would be refunded for the days lost which we still pay for, and i was then told 02 were not legally obliged to provide a working phone service to its customers 24 hours a day or 365 days of the year, and that i could find this in the small print of my contract.

I had no service at all for five days, and still a month later have little to no service in my home, Its not the phone as my husband and sons have the exact same issue. there is little to no phone oe data service in most parts of sw16 at all and no phone or data service in parts of mitcham, east sussex, wallington, norbury, and sutton.

I am so furious with the appaulling service of 02 and even more furious that until april months ago i had a pay and go sim, that i topped up manually, but when i purchased an iphone i was conned by the 02 staff at mitcham into being forced to take out a contract as they claimed i could not have an iphone 5 sim card unless i signed a contract using direct debit, now i am stuck with lousy 02 service for almost a whole year !!!!!!

I was offered £2.00 compensation yes thats right TWO POUNDS! for the loss of service which i told "customer services" was an insult as it didnt even remotely cover the cost of me having to purchase and top up a vodaphone sim.

I have been with 02 for almost four years and never had these issues before 02 was taken over by sky. When 02 service was lost for one day two years ago 02 gave its affected customers free calls And data, without anyone having to ask.

Given the appaulling phone service and appulling customer service i have experienced i will never be signing up with sky either.

Well the letter i was sent implied otherwise. i have an 02 broadband deal which is tied to the 02 mobile, and customer services could not confirm that the deal i had with 02 broadband would continue after september due to sky takeover. After two hours getting nowhere with customer services my only course of action will be to find a new broadband provider and 3 members of the family will be moving to a mobile phone company that does provide an actual service. Im stuck with 02 till next year. Has anyone else been having same problem with no signal in sw16 ?

Hi Paris.

As 02 do not provide real time status reports and cover themselves in T&C's small print I understand your frustration.

If the mast ststus reports continue to say all is fine then you can continue to report that these masts are not in your opinion operating correctly.

Do try removing your sim and giving it a wipe as ststic does occur on the sims causing issues too.

I hope the situation resolves for you quickly.

Take care.

Thanks for your reply, we all tried cleaning sims restarting phones but still hardly any signal and calls
Cut offf mid way.

the most frsutrating thing is when we all had no signal at all for 4 days the 02 report said all was fine, when i contacted them online, they told me 7 masts around my area were down! The customer service guy gave me a link to some app, which he said could give me a signal even when the masts were Down, heartened that perhaps 02 finally have a monkeys, i loaded it up, only to find i had to recieve a text to activate it!!

Which i obviously couldnt recieve as he knew i had no service at
The time to recieve texts. Doh!

Type your exact postcode in to the status page http://status.o2.co.uk

But micham shows mast issues.

Have you tried turning 3g off on the iphone to see if it still gets a 2g signal at least sms and calls will work.
