I have recently got an iphone 4s. I have signed up to icloud, got an apple id and password. I then got a message asking for a emergency email address. I gave an alternate email address which was subsequently verified.

When I tried to download an app the system asked for my apple password on my emergency email. Obviously there is not an apple password on that account. The email password doesn't work.

Why does the iphone give me the emergency email address rather than my apple id? How do I make it give me the correct apple id?

Settings , iTunes & App Store , Apple ID showing at the top in blue. Is it the main one you've set up ?

If not touch it and a pop up box will show with one Of the options to Log out.

Then log back in using your main Apple ID your wanting to use.

Sign in with your Apple id in settings and it will always use the same email address. The alternate address is just for recovery options.

I have checked out the suggestions.

The icloud sign in and password are correct.

The itunes and app store are showing the other email account. How do I change it?
