I phone 5 limited access to internet

 The only way that I can currently access the internet is if there is wifi available. I can not pick up a 3g signal or access internet without wi fi. I have unlimited downlaod capability

Even when I am with friends in various locations they can all pick up 3 g signals and they are on same contract/same phone, I cant get the signal. Are my settings wrong ??

1 APN'S are the codes to access the internet are you on an iphone tariff?

2 settings>general> mobile/cellular data> is mobile data on and enable3g ? what is shown under Mobile / cellular data?

That's the correct APN for an idata tariff. Try changing it to mobile.o2.co.uk or check in My O2 that you are on the idata specific tariff.
