Is FaceTime free from country to country on the iphone

if over wifi yes  but will use cell data so would cost if using that on a roaming network

Thanks for the info, so just so I understand fully, I am in UK using my contract phone& FaceTime , my son is living in Ireland doing the same, so my data 3G and my sons will be used if not in a wifi area, the only cost would be if we use up all our contract data, am I right

Facetime is not like a standard call as you are not billing for the time that the call lasts instead you are charged for the about of data that you use during the call.

Facetime is free when using Wi-Fi however will use your data allowance using a GPRS, EDGE or 3G connection. If you do not have a data allowance as part of your tariff/bolt ons or are using Facetime while abroad on a data connection this will be chargeable.

Please be aware that as it is a data connection that you are using you will be billed for incoming and outgoing Facetime calls.
