Data use abnormal

Yesterday I went over my limit according to a text from O2. I have my data disabled most of the time and use wifi. My usage went up from 4% to 101% in a day! I now have to put up with slow service till 26 Aug. Has anyone else had this problem?

Good Morning,

Their are lots of threads which have good information regarding data usage in them if you perform a search.

One good point is when the iPhone goes into sleep mode it switches from WiFi to 3g to save battery power.

Maybe this link may help.

There are different data usage meters you can download too which will roughly monitor what's been used.

Perhpas contact 02 Customer Services on 202 where they will be able to advise on the spike in usage , and if its an error they will give you back the data.

You do not have to put up with a throttled data speed as you can buy a data bolt on although take into account whatever you have used over your tariff limit will automatically be deducted from the bolt on.

A good data app for both iOS and Android is Onavo Count which can control your data and advise you where it is being used.
