Changing to iPhone

Anonymous
Not applicable

Not sure if this is the right place to post this question, but any help is appreciated!

I'm currently on a contract for a Samsung which doesn't end until September 2015. However, I am going to buy an iPhone 6 upfront when it's out. What will I need to do about swapping sims to a nano and making sure I can still use the same number/tariff that I'm on at the moment with the new phone?

I've never had an iPhone before so I don't really know what I'm doing haha!

Thanks slight_smile

Hi and Welcome to the forum.

Pick up a blank account contact SIM card from the O2 shop ,and ask them to perform a sim swap which moves your contract tariff and mobile number from your old SIM card to the new nano one your going to use in the iPhone.

This takes from a few minutes to approximate 24 hours to settle.

Also ask them to ensure your put on an idata settings so your iPhone connects to the internet.

You can switch at home via http://swapmysim.o2.co.uk but as your in the shop you might as we'll let them do it. If you can't get to a shop ask customer services on 202 to send you a contract SIM card and use the sim swap link.

Other considerations are your contacts and music and pictures etc.

If you use gmail then you can use that in your iPhone to download all your contacts into the iPhone.

Their is lots of information via a google search on different options to transfer other info from the Samsung phone to the iPhone.

DropBox is one avenue.

Others for example are http://m.imore.com/how-transfer-data-android-new-iphone-5s-or-iphone-5c

http://www.iphonehacks.com/2013/09/switch-from-androdid-to-iphone-5s-5c-how-to-transfer-data.html

These are only examples.

You will need an Apple I.d to enjoy the iPhone.

Here is a link from Apple that tells you all about it. You can set up the I.D now if
You wish so your ready.

Good luck with your new choice when you get it and perhaps let us know how you get on.

Any O2 store will set you up with the correct sized sim card and swap your contract over for you.
Don't forget to get your data packaged switched to iData too - CS can do that for you by calling 202.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Thanks!

I have an iTunes account so I think that doubles up as like the standard apple account so I can log in using that?

And I have Dropbox too so I'm sorted for that sort of stuff! slight_smile

You're welcome.

If you have an Apple ID then you'll be good to go. slight_smile

It's used to pay for iTunes products and to download apps etc.
