Solved: transfering contact details to Cloud

I've been having problems with my old fashioned Sony Erickson whereby the screen blacks out and I can't use the phone. It's been rebuilt once, but I lost all my contacts. It'snow done the same thing again. I'm intending to get a new handset, but I don't want to lose contacts and photos if at all possible.

Can I save stuff to the cloud vis my laptop in I connect the phione to it. I am a complete Luddite, so will need spoon-feeding

Google for software called Sony Ericsson PC Suite.
It will take a backup of your phone to PC.
