From what I've read, it's a "problem" that's been around "for ever" and one that can only be resolved with a firmware rewrite.  Apparently, even using an alternative SMS app won't help as they generally call on the same underlying routine in  Android and it's that which appears to be causing the problem.

I just checked and found an app on Google Play that claims to be able to able to rectify the issue - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=at.zweng.smssenttimefix&feature=search_result - (please note that I've not used or tested that app and am not specifically recommending it - there may aso be others available)

Short answer is you can't - Android works by timestamping delivery not sent times. You could try another message app such as Go SMS but I'm not sure if it will help.
