Install like any app.
Press home and it will ask which launcher you want to use.
Just use the new one
Any problems, settings/home and select the default home launcher

I've never needed to on my Z1 after any updates. I'd only suggest it if you find any issues.

Install Nova launcher - I had that before the update and still do and my icons are the same size.

I always hear that it's worth factory resetting your device after an update cos old android files get left behind or something but I haven't noticed any problems so far after the update so if their is no need to factory reset then that's one job i don't need to do slight_smile

A factory reset get rid of old files and generlly is adviseable. HOWEVER if the phone is ok with no lag then it's generally best to just clear the cache which will sort out software conflicts. There is no general rule, it's up to the user whether there is a noteable difference to previous performance.

I can't think of any reason why that would be unless the headphones were faulty?
