Not seen anything to say you can't. Only the iPhone excluded from Open Code discount.
You must get phone in O2 shop though to qualify.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

Think the OPEN FAQ's are out of date.. don't think they check your details in store anymore, you just text OPEN to 202 (might be 2020 ?) and they send you a return text asking for your Open Code and personal details.

Get your code here...

I've posted this here before...

You now firstly obtain your OPEN code, then text OPEN to 2020 and when you get a text back from O2 you then reply with your code, mobile no., name & postcode.

Has been confirmed that O2 OPEN Code can be used with the new Z1 Compact on 4G. However I wanted to get the £22 Unlimited Mins/Texts with 5GB Data Tarriff but was told the 30% OPEN discount would only apply to £17 of that (ie. the lower free 1GB Data Tarriff) as the extra 4GB of data is classed as an additional £5 separate monthly payment Bolt On and not part of the Airtime Plan ?

That was news to me and they are going to look at the O2 Shop Site to review the indicated wording, as it states that £22 Tarriff is the Airtime Plan (incl the 5GB Data).

If it's the 4g plan which it must be the 5gb is included it's not a separate bolt on

That's what i thought and was trying to explain to the woman on the phone (202).

She was adamant that the £22 4G Tarriff means £17 + £5 with the discount only applying to the £17 part.

I'm not that bothered about a pound or so extra discount but it's the principal.  I'll check again in the O2 Shop when I upgrade tomorrow.
