Samsung galaxy Ace suddenly not receiving or sending texts

Hi,can anyone help, phone working fine earlier in day now not receiving or sending texts.i can still ring out and receive calls.No settings have been changed,tried shutting phone down and all obvious things.

Hi, iv got the same phone and a similar problem, I can only send some texts and cant dial to mobiles but can to landlines. My phone was fine earlier too and nothing has been changed either.

Update 23:45hrs

The intermittent problems experienced by some of our customers today have now been resolved.

Routine upgrade work on our 2G and 3G networks led to unexpected congestion affecting around 1% of O2 customers. We apologise to those customers and thank them for their patience.

Received a message this morning, to say a text I sent on 9th Feb had failed!  Tried to send a text and got failed immediately.

Reset phone by switching off and on again and text went.  Received another text from a friend, dated today (17th) and at the current time.  Seems that had been sent yesterday, Sunday.

 

Why does my phone stop sending and receiving texts and doesn't tell me till I switch it off?

hi 

 

My partner has a problem recieving texts. I do not believe it is a network issue as he recently changed to O2 and had the issue prior to joining the network. We have tried all of the obvious things (short of re-setting the handset) and some not so obvious which leads me to believe it is a handset issue

It could be that there are numbers on the blocked list - You need to check in both the phone and message app for any numbers that may be blacklisted.
