Samsung Galaxy 2 Issues with 2 different handsets

Hi

I got my first S2 end of September but about 4 days in, it started turning itself off at random, one night I left it fully charged and by half 6 the next morning I found it had gone off again and once i got it back on by removing the battery and putting it back in again, it was charged to 17%, so after having had it a week, I took it back to the shop and they gave me a new one.

Now, after a week of having the new one, it started doing the same thing again, turning off at random, but just now, I was having a conversation with my dad whilst using speakerphone and he said to me...'what's that beeping on the line'? so I went to wake the screen up to take it off speakerphone to see if the beeping would stop, but the screen wouldnt come on. It was as if it was off again, no buttons worked, no screen, nothing, but somehow, the connection was still on for me to be talking to him. I got him to hang up and tried to charge it, no go, had to take the battery out again for it to come back to life.

I tried updating firmware but it said there were no updates...any ideas before I go to the shop and do....well, I dont know what really, I gather I have 28days to get a new one and I got this 2nd one on the 5th, but Im not sure having a 3rd one would make any sense if they're all going to be faulty!

Wipe cache first, after that completes it will come back to main screen, then chose wipe data/factory reset and phone will reboot after it has completed.

Shouldn't take too long. If it freezes just pull the battery out and start over...

I think it froze...even though it's spinning...which is a talent really when you think about it

Though now it's quite warm and the battery is on 12 % so i may have to wait for it to charge a bit first.

OK all wiped

Fair well old stuff, it was all too short!

*Wipes tear from eye*

It's installing applications...so I guess i'll give it a fortnight, if it doesnt go wrong then i'll say it's fixed

If it goes wrong....I'm sure i'll be back to let you know! (and weep)

So I assume I can just go ahead and add apps back and all that...dunno if i should wait a bit

If it was an app giving you the problem you won't really prove anything by reinstalling them, however, it's a pain to have the phone with no apps, so a bit of a catch 22 really.....

I only had 2 left in the end...well I could add the others back, though obviously they're not my main one's.
