Samsung Apps Store

Hi all.

Recently got a Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 via Carphone Warehouse/O2 monthly.

Have just discovered that the Ace 2 is not recognised as a compatible phone by the Samsung website, or by KIES (the PC Samsung interface).

Have spoken to Samsung support, and they say that they don't know why this is the case, but confirm that it is just not me, that the Ace 2 really not a recognised model, and that the only way to get Samsung Apps is over the air.

Whilst this is easy enough, I am not sure that this may not cause problems in the future. But what is infuriating, is that no one can tell me why. After all, the Ace 2 is just the latest model in the Ace line, and all of the other Ace variations is supported, just not the Ace 2.

Does anyone have any thoughts/advice on this matter, and since I am new to the smartphone scene, is there anything else I need to consider. I am currently thinking of taking the phone back on the basis that it does not provide the services as advertised.

Just to understand exactly your problem, is is that you cannot download apps to your phone when connected through Kies? If so, it's never worked for me either and never been as issue? What exactly are the advertised services you are not receiving?
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
