How to stop using 3G and only use wireless?

After being connected to my work Outlook account I've use up my 500MB in 3 days! How do I only use wireless and not 3G?

Turn off your phone's data connection.

 

In the wireless settings make sure wi-fi is not set to use sleep mode.

Yes, I guessed that but how do I turn off the data connection? Sorry if I'm being stupid about this but the O2 help doesn't inform me about such basic stuff!

Depends what phone you have for exact instructions but usually found in Network Settings and can be called Cell Data, Mobile Data, Packet Data etc...
