Any idea when the HTC Jelly Bean update will be released for the One X?
I understand the forthcoming HTC One X+, listed as an October release on coming soon, will come with Jelly Bean already installed, does this mean other HTC Handsets should get the update a bit quicker, as I assume all the "testing" that O2 normally do on updates will already have been carried out for the new handset.

Yet again I have just spoken to a 'guru' who told me the software has been released but 'you'll be able to do it by the second or third day of next week'. it continues.
on 03-01-2013 18:07
I've spoken to tree separate Gurus today, each gave me a different response. The first said that it was released and being distributed in batches. Secondly I was told that it's been put on hold due to technical difficulties? Lastly they said it was still in testing phase and will be available in the next few weeks.

just been told "you'll need to wait as whenever a new software is launched by the manufacturers, we investigate and make sure that there is no issues in it which may affect the phone. Once it's done, it's shared for all our customers on our website. As of now, the investigation isn't done, so you'll have to wait for a few weeks until it's launched by us. Your patience and understanding is appreciated. :)"
looks like its going to be a few weeks, but who knows with this ridiculous excuse of a company?

Hi all,
Have been monitoring this saga closely and can't believe no-one that actually works for O2 is getting actively involved with this forum, bearing in mind the number of people threatening to leave O2 at the next available opportunity! Below is a transcript of a chat I had with HTC yesterday, in which they still maintain it is down to O2 to release the update....
Please wait while we find an agent to assist you...
You have been connected to Kaylee.
Kaylee: Hi Phill, thank you for contacting HTC Support, I am looking in to your query now.
Kaylee: I understand you would like to know who is responsible for releasing the Jelly Bean update for your device.
Phill Parker: yes please...
Kaylee: I can confirm because your device is branded, we release the update to networks, they then add there own branding and release it to customers.
Kaylee: It has currently only been released for unbranded devices.
Kaylee: No networks have received it as of yet.
Phill Parker: O2 are telling people that they brand it and then send it back to you for OTA release. Is thaty not true?
Phill Parker: And are you saying you haven't sent the update to service providers yet, because O2 are also telling people that they have been testing it, and I know someone with a One X on Virgin Mobile who got an update before Xmas. Their phone was upgraded via Virgin mobile...
Kaylee: We cannot give time scales for branded devices.
Phill Parker: ?
Kaylee: You would need to check this with them,
Phill Parker: SO who actually releases the update for OTA? Is it O2, or yourselves?
Kaylee: We release it but networks add branding to it and release it after to network customers.
Phill Parker: so you release it to them, and then they brand it and don't send it back to you, they release it themselves?
Kaylee: We release it, they add branding then release it to there customers
Kaylee: It is not sent back to us after the branding
Phill Parker: Ok. Thanx for your help.
Phill Parker: So if i go to settings and 'check now' for updates, is it checking their servers or yours?
Kaylee: It would be theres.
Phill Parker: Ok. And you can't recieve an unbranded version to a branded phone via yourselves?
Kaylee: Unfortunately this is not possible.
Phill Parker: Ok. Thanx for all your help, appreciate it

Open Letter to o2. I have also sent it to the complaints email as mentioned above and I suggest you do to.
Dear Sirs,
I am writing to exclaim my extreme disappointment in o2’s management and release of the android jellybean software for the HTC One x.
The official o2 twitter account, when asked about this software update on the 27th December said it had been released in batches, and would be available immediately if not in a couple of days to people with the phone. This would be okay if anyone actually could get the update.
It has been over a week now and no one on o2 has received the update. Just look online at the many forums including the ‘o2 community’. Vodaphone and other companies released the update 2 weeks back and o2 can’t manage to do this.
While confronted about the situation a ‘guru’ blamed the problem on HTC, something they dispute, HTC made the software available to unbranded phones a month ago, and you cant seem to put an o2 start up screen on it, which has taken over a month.
As of writing this there has been 11,977 Views on the o2 forum entitled- ‘HTC One X Jelly Bean update - any news.’ Clearly this shows the immense disappointment on your behalf and extreme interest on the update being released.
I for one will most certainly not be continuing my contract with you once it has ended and many others have agreed with me on this. Your handling on this situation has been extremely juvenile and it seems that your company does not know one hand from the other.
Regards,
