I know it's not to everyone's liking & I know there's people suffering but i love this weather. The roads get a wash down (which is great for bikers) the trees get plucked of their weakest limbs (yes i know some of the bigger ones do damage) but in this kind of weather people get warned & expect this danger, so to me its better that it happens when (sensible) people are avoiding venturing out.
When I walked through the park in town the river was about to burst its banks (only into the park(its highest point in town)) the leaves were floating down the hill which means the council will only have to send the cleaners to one junction to clean up 80% of the debris. On my way round i was pulling debris from the road and placing it on the verge ready for removal. Most of it was tree branches. I saw a few tiles from properties but the damage seems minimal here. Gawd bless The Midlands!

Nature's ways can be harsh, but effective.
This one made me smile, but only because I am not standing knee-deep in a raging torrent filming it, or worse yet, stuck in a car in front of it...

@Anonymous
We have had a lot of trees down here in the Midlands/Waarwickshire. I posted a picture on the weather thread. I haven't ventured out even to the back garden as I will be blown over...

Spare a thought for those who have to respond to calls for help when people ignore the weather warnings...

Speaking of tail-winds, that reminds me:
A small farm up the road from has hens. The owner was telling me earlier that it was so windy last night, one of his hens laid the same egg three times!
