There are two White Room Quizzes each week - one on Monday and one on Wednesday.

Today`s White Room Quiz is the first of a three-part Odd Questions A-Z quiz

Instead of 8 questions - with two questions on each of four of the usual categories, there will be 8 questions

but one question on each of 8 subjects - with each subject based on a letter of the alphabet

   A Antiques; B Badges; C Currency; D Dimensions; E Extinction; F Flags; G Gold; H Highway Code.

The White Room Quiz is open to all members.

Those wishing to take part must pm me - @Mi-Amigo  - their answers between 12 noon today [Monday] and 11.59pm tomorrow [Tuesday].

Please do not post your answers on the thread.

Q4 D - DIMENSIONS  The dimensions of 9 feet by 3 feet equals how many square yards ?

Q5 E - EXTINCTION  The Great Auk became extinct in the 1840s. What kind of creature was a Great Auk ?

Q6 F - FLAGS  Which country`s flag features a trident ?

Q7 G - GOLD  How many karats are there in pure gold ?

Q8 H - HIGHWAY CODE  What is the max speed allowed for powered wheelchairs and disability scooters ?

The White Room Quiz is open to all members of the Community.

Those who want to take part must send a pm [private message] to me [Mi-Amigo] with their answers between 12 noon today [Mon 18 July 2022] and 23.59 [11.59pm] tomorrow [Tues 19 July 2022] - allowing 36 hours to pm your answers.

Please do not post your answers on the thread.

The answers - and results for each player taking part - will be posted on morning of Wed 20 July 2022

Each member will be awarded for each correct answer. In addition, Thinkers will be awarded as follows

THE RULES

Each member must pm [private message] their answers to me [Mi-Amigo] after 12 noon today [Mon 18 July 2022] and before 23.59 [11.59pm] tomorrow [Tues 19 July 2022].

No member is to post any answer on the thread.

Any answer received after 23.59 [11.59pm] on Tues 19 July 2022 will be declared void.

No googling, wiki, youtube search for answers.

The White Room Quiz is open to all members.

New members, who have recently joined the Community, and members who have not taken part before, are welcome to join the "regulars" with this week`s quiz. 

Please feel free to post any comments on the questions - but not the answers - on this thread.

If you have any questions about the quiz, please ask and I will reply here.

How come Ukraine only gets half marks.. it does have a trident... 😂

The official flag of the Ukraine is two bands - one of yellow and one of blue - with no trident.

But the emblem of Ukraine - from 1918 and independence in 1991 - has a trident; and the Presidential standard - from 1999 - has the trident.

Ukraine is, technically, an incorrect answer, but I decided to be generous and award half star for those who gave Ukraine as the answers, as this was a difficult question.

Not too bad during my brain meltdown.

😁 @Mi-Amigo  2 of my answers were daft.

I thought Ukraine too for the trident, didn't put it down though 🤔 

Brain cooled today so maybe get a better result.

Thanks to Mi-Amigo for putting that together, I got more right than I though which was a pleasing surprise plus I love my Red Thinker.

Great to see so many correct answers from everyone too, great first part of the alphabet theme.
