Hey guys.

In one of my old forums I was a member of (not existing anymore since this year), we had a thread where everybody just told in short what made them happy this day. Thought it would be nice for here too! slight_smile

To start: I'm working for EMS and my first call today was am expected birth. So we hoped we would be able to bring her into hospital just in time. But it didn't work. I was at the patient and she just said "it's coming"... My team-mate was driving REALLY fast, it took him about an kilometer to brake - during that time the baby was just born. Even we were a really young team and not long into job, we did VERY well and even the doctors told us we did excellent.

(Our last call was a reanimation on the street, the woman did not get an own circulation again.... But I guess that's the circle of life :D)

Saw a robin in the big hedge over the road from my kitchen ... 1st of the Winter

The ladybird in the house is now on the paper lantern type landing light shade

A few more ladybirds on the inside of my bedroom window

Saw my Mum and although she seemed distracted her face lightened up when I knocked on the back door

The weather has been dry & clear of late ... you just need to wrap up warm

Spent a lovely afternoon with friends in the local hotel bar = me on blackcurrant cordial as not yet payday

An hotel voucher emailed to me for a free 2 course meal as it's my birthday this month, when a guest is paying full price ... so me & my guest will go halves ... looking forward to it

Thanks ........ Ive just left my Rock choir. It took 4 yrs to make friends with 2 people........ it was very inaccessible for hearing impaired folk in general.  Looks like there is something special about  swimmers !!

It's a given being with the afternoon drinking gang at the bar in Herriots where we have a laugh & help each other

I'm happy at the thought of visiting my Mum tomorrow ... she had a bad fall during the week & gashed all her elbow, it was a mess ... we're all grateful that the local A & E patched her up ... Mum just goes too darn fast with her walking frame, she's been having little falls. I keep trying to say to her 'have patience, go slowly'

Met one of Mum's carers, the one who saw her first upon discharge from hospital, what a superb woman she is ... Mum likes all the carers smiling

Sorry to hear about your Mum @Anonymous...though she seems to be doing well apart from her falls?

Who would have thought she liked her carers? Doesn't seem that long ago she was refusing all help!

Good for her though. She has probably realised now she can't do without the support on offer and it's what she is entitled to...

Thank you @Cleoriff because I'd forgotten the time when mum was refusing all help ... On Sunday, when I visited, she was doing 3 things at once ... I'm worried she'll fall again ... I do tell her to go slowly, but mum has always done things at a quick pace whilst thinking about the next thing to do ... it's good that the carers, my sister & me are all working together for mum's benefit ... sorry about the delay in replying Cleo, I've been worrying myself to distraction over mum

A good thing ... = ... mum had the dressing changed on her arm yesterday & it is clean without any sign of infection

Thank you again Cleo

@Anonymous

I will just say this. Far better that your Mum is 'dashing' around, trying to regain independence than sitting in a chair just giving up. (Not undermining the risk though)

So let her get on with it while she can. I know it's worrying, though if she was the other way, that would be even more worrying.  Pleased to hear her arm is healing slight_smile
