Headline : Making your Home smarter.

Excerpts from the Link "Technology is transforming our homes. The internet of things is connecting everyday devices like fridges and washing machines to the internet, letting you communicate with them when you’re out and about through your mobile phone or smartwatch. Here are a few more of the innovative ways technology can help your home…"

My thoughts :

The initial cost of updating a household to accommodate these new pieces of Tech may be expensive - I can see newly built houses having all this built into the specs / upgrades but these certainly would come in handy.

Apple have been looking at apps for a while to control similar tech.

The electronic door lock is a nice concept, as well as adjusting your heating while you're away.

I fail to see ANY useable benefits in communicating with white goods or bathroom scales,,,,,,,Cat

I think if you could be told that the freezer door was open and the entire contents was defrosting would be a good thing?

Probably the cost will be reduced over the years, and having a tech home will become more accessible.

Why would the freezer door be open???

I make sure I close it when not in use and don't need 'tech' to tell me tongue

If someone has broken into my house and opened the freezer or fridge door, then my alarm system will alert me of an intruder.
