I don't know who else is an audiophile around here however I am self-confessed audio buff. Given the budget, I would have a mortgage worthy music system. Anyway I like to attempt to compose/sequence music with various tools with some being more expensive than others.
Recently I just bought a pair of AKG K702 headphones and been trying to find a weakness for them deliberately. Other than the lack of bass extension which most consumer headphones have, I can't find any faults yet.
What's your guilty pleasure?

Yes I wouldn't spend a lot on in-ear (canal) earphones as the trade off wouldn't be worth it. A lot of the Paris Hiltons fell for the must have AKG K1001 hype - don't get me wrong, excellent quality. However unless you are involved with music you don't need a 3-way driver system for listening to your iPod.
Monster always seem to be secretive with their specifications.

I sold a pair of JBL speakers, Northridge speakers. They were great bookshelf speakers however I regretted ever since. At the moment I am just using a Denon CD Music system which fairs pretty well considering what I paid.

I'm a bit of a Bose freak! My Uncle was going to throw out his original Acoustic Wave system as the CD player didn't always work but I said I'd have it and I bought a CD changer at a Bose outlet and now have a fully functioning stereo!
I also have the Bose dock for my iPod and the Solo box for the TV. The Solo actually improves the sound so much that my partially deaf husband doesn't have to have the TV so loud!
