I don't know who else is an audiophile around here however I am self-confessed audio buff. Given the budget, I would have a mortgage worthy music system. Anyway I like to attempt to compose/sequence music with various tools with some being more expensive than others.

Recently I just bought a pair of AKG K702 headphones and been trying to find a weakness for them deliberately. Other than the lack of bass extension which most consumer headphones have, I can't find any faults yet.

What's your guilty pleasure?

The most I've spend is £140 on in ear monster turbines ,which I use for my iPhone.

A pair of £50 Skull Candy in ear for my iPod touch.

I like my 5.1 Lg home cinema surround but my neighbour does not. Good job we are good friends !

Yes I wouldn't spend a lot on in-ear (canal) earphones as the trade off wouldn't be worth it. A lot of the Paris Hiltons fell for the must have AKG K1001 hype - don't get me wrong, excellent quality. However unless you are involved with music you don't need a 3-way driver system for listening to your iPod.

Monster always seem to be secretive with their specifications.

I bought a pair of Gale Gold Monitor speakers to go with my PL-530 (Shure V15 Type III). Takes a while to get them positioned properly as they are very fussy to location but I'm happy with my current set up.
I recently sold my old Garrard 401 & Linn on ebay - I've never seen ebay go mad before as it did when I listed those..
Made me wonder if I choose the right turntable to keep or not !!

I sold a pair of JBL speakers, Northridge speakers. They were great bookshelf speakers however I regretted ever since. At the moment I am just using a Denon CD Music system which fairs pretty well considering what I paid.

I used to be bad and invest quite a bit on audio.

Then... (ready to mock me)

One of my pet ferrets got into the subwoofer. She had a lovely metal skirt and couldn't get out of it. It was 11pm, oil wouldn't work, soap wouldn't work, I have a nice scar on my little finger and there was a lot of (my) blood. Got ready to go to emergency vet (!!!), she wriggled out of it as we were getting ready to go at nearly 1am.

Subwoofer dead. I'm not going to replace it until I find a ferret-proof one.

I'm a bit of a Bose freak!  My Uncle was going to throw out his original Acoustic Wave system as the CD player didn't always work but I said I'd have it and I bought a CD changer at a Bose outlet and now have a fully functioning stereo!

I also have the Bose dock for my iPod and the Solo box for the TV.  The Solo actually improves the sound so much that my partially deaf husband doesn't have to have the TV so loud!
