It's Alive. It's Loud
Mercedes firing up the engine for their 2017 F1 car
Make the most of it. It's only 48 seconds long....

Absolutely sickening incident. Telemetry showed no evidence of Hamilton brake testing. He was behind the safety car which was about to pull off. As race leader he was allowed to control the pace.
Vettel was too damn close and 'expected' Lewis to speed up...and hit him up up the rear. Then on realising his mistake Vettel had a bit of road rage and deliberately with malice sideswiped Lewis.

A 10 second stop go penalty was farcical. A race ban should have been his punishment.
Even worse, every post race interview he gave he conveniently avoided discussion on the side swipe..just his presumption of brake testing.
Lewis on the other hand, so often called a cry baby and a whinger, conducted his post race interview with remarkable restraint.
For all that..... its rather pathetic that Lewis lost that race because some Mercedes mechanic didn't ensure his headrest was clipped on properly!!!

I thought at first that maybe the collision had disturbed the headrest.

No when the race was red flagged the drivers got out of their cars. The headrest wasnt put back on properly when Lewis got back in. (The collision had already taken place before the red flag)

I don't often agree with Eddie Jordan but I think his assessment of the Vettel / Hamilton incident was spot on...

"Sebastian Vettel's swerve into title rival Lewis Hamilton at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix was like an "instant red card" offence in football, according to former F1 team owner Eddie Jordan".

Obviously the FIA think Vettels 'red mist moment' needs further investigation. GOOD!!

They will bottle out of banning him from any race so as not to have a detrimental effect on what is turning into a thrilling season.
