From 1/1/2025 Lewis Hamilton became a Ferrari driver.
The Ferrari media team released a very clever post.
Note the time it was posted. 16.44. 16 is Charles Leclerc's race number and 44 is Lewis Hamiltons number. (they are now team mates). Interesting to note that Mercedes have lost just under a million followers and Ferrari have gained over a million.
With all his farewell commitments to Mercedes, Lewis has not tested in last years Ferrari. (All new drivers did a test run in Abu Dhabi.) It's understood, he will be testing in Marinello, Italy, later this month.
A lot to learn. New car, new steering wheel, new team, new race engineer and new language.
Personally, I'm not expecting him to do that well initially. Only time will tell.
* F1 live at the O2 Arena London. February
* Pre- Season Testing in Bahrain 26th-28th February.
* 1st Race - Australia Friday March 14th-Sunday 16th March.

Mad race. Norris lost 2nd at first bend. Dropped to 4th. Couple of Virtual safety cars for crashed cars. Ferrari made a mess up of changing drivers round. Lewis was faster than Leclerc and it took 3 laps to swap the cars over. Then Leclerc faster than Lewis, they told Charles to swap but didn't tell Lewis who was fuming. They then said to Lewis that Sainz (for Williams) was 1.4 behind and Lewis sarcastically asked if they wanted him to let Sainz through as well. 😂
Lewis made up 4 places and Charles just one.

Not sure they will be the final positions
Max questioned if George lifted under the yellow flag
Didn't quite see what happened between Lewis and Sainz on the last couple of corners

They took no further action re George @jonsie They proved he lifted.
Sainz, so desperate to get past Hamilton, nearly took them both out. Sainz was off to see stewards anyway for another infringement. The results remain the same.
The Ferrari is a dead duck. It has no pace whoever is driving it but they have strict rules about their drivers overtaking each other. Permission has to be given!
So while they made LH wait for 3 laps, any tactic he had with those mediums was gone after sitting in dirty air for that length of time.
They really need new strategists. The CEO of Ferrari was in the garage today. Not sure what he thought of the mess.

It was a mess
I can't understand how such a competitive car last season is now a pile of junk

Last year, it didn't become really competitive until 6 races in @jonsie.
I don't know why, knowing all the rule changes due in 2026, they didn't stick with last years car and give it a new paint job!
I know Charles is the future of Ferrari but there's a reason they paid mega bucks for Hamilton.
If they aren't prepared to listen to him with his years of expertise and racecraft they should have stayed as they were.
Every post I've seen on Twitter and Instagram said the same. Hamilton was fast on mediums, they should have told Charles immediately to let Lewis through, not wait for 3 laps until his tyres were 'cooked'
In all the years I've been watching F1, I've never seen such an appalling strategy team as the one Ferrari use currently.
Disappointed in Fred Vasseur as well. All he could say was, 'it worked out right in the end'.
Errr no it didn't. You have a 7x wdc driving for you now and he knows how to make a bad situation better.
I am positive they are worried about upsetting Charles Leclerc.

BREAKING NEWS
Yesterday Oliver Oakes resigned his role as Team Principal at Alpine. We think it was due to the above plan by
Flavia Briatore the Executive Advisor.
The stupid thing is, apparently Franco Colapinto is replacing Doohan for 5 races only??? How ridiculous.
