Emoji Racial Diversity aka "I've heard it all now"

Anonymous
Not applicable

So... the Unicode Consortium have decided that there isn't enough racial diversity in emoji characters. Even though the current yellow emojis don't refer to any particular race or creed, there has been a proposal that will bring skin tones, based on the Fitzpatrick scale for dermatology, to emoji characters in five hues ranging from a pale creme to a dark brown.

I have no words that I could use on here to express my disdain, so will quote someone else:

"I don't appreciate them being bald either. Only bald yellow men get representation with Emoji!
Why cant some of them have spiky hair? Even the proposed Emoji have matted down hair! Why do they all have to be clean shaven too? I have facial hair! Why cant I be represented?

Where are the female Emoji?
Why do all emotions have to be masculine? "

I honestly can't believe that people get worked up about things like this...so much so that a lesbian and a homosexual couple had to be added to the emoji support in 2012.

Seriously, are any of you offended by the little yellow smilies?

{insert aubergine emoji here}

There are so many instances of changing to politically correct phrases that I find it totally baffling, not just racial but feminists have also jumped on board....chairperson  as just one example. Sad....

If you can find me a KKK feminist, I'll buy you a very expensive dinner. I was in a room once with two members of that infamous group. They scared the hell out of me.

And you need to be in Spain when they celebrate Easter. The massive parade is full of 100's of men dressed top to toe in full KKK gear.

I am aware it means something else in that country...it is still as frightening as hell...

Although it was a ironical joke, some parts of it ring somewhat true.
Wasn't the WKKK born from the fact the government were going to give black men a vote when white women were denied?
The resulting anger drove many women to join up to the KKK in an effort to secure better rights for women before black men.
