The BBC have announced that two patients in the UK have been diagnosed with the coronavirus.
No further details have been given other than they are both members of the same family and are receiving specialist NHS care.

At present, 83 Britons and 27 foreign nationals are flying back to the UK from Wuhan, the Chinese city at the centre of the outbreak.
The flight is due to land at RAF Brize Norton at 13:30 GMT.
The UK passengers will then be taken to Arrowe Park Hospital on the Wirral and quarantined for two weeks.

Yes I read about the person trying to leave quarantine @Anonymous. Thankfully he was asked to reconsider and did. He gets out on Thursday anyway.
Now they are trying to push through an emergency law to stop this happening again. (in terms of the virus outbreak)
As it stands, if anyone wishes to discharge themselves from hospital there is very little staff can do to stop them.
Getting a court order takes time.

Not something I'd normally argue for but desparate times call for desparate measures, maybe they should impose martial law in these areas, with armed Police/military authorised to shoot them in the leg or something.
I know being the wonderfully caring soul you are (one of my cousins is a nurse who has worked all over the world) this goes against all you stand for but if this gets out of control, we could end up in a Black Death type of scenario.

Actually @Anonymous I'm all for it.
There is a difference with someone wanting to discharge themselves from hospital with a broken arm/leg/etc, etc etc, as the form they sign includes a disclaimer absolving the hospital of any responsibility.
This virus needs to be contained. So allowing them out is negligent. If they need to be stopped then use any means possible.

Anyone trying to do that should be locked in a secure government facility. I've no time or patience for such stupid selfish people.
