The BBC have announced that two patients in the UK have been diagnosed with the coronavirus.

No further details have been given other than they are both members of the same family and are receiving specialist NHS care.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-51325192

At present, 83 Britons and 27 foreign nationals are flying back to the UK from Wuhan, the Chinese city at the centre of the outbreak.

The flight is due to land at RAF Brize Norton at 13:30 GMT.

The UK passengers will then be taken to Arrowe Park Hospital on the Wirral and quarantined for two weeks.

If I was younger and in better health, I would be first in the queue to volunteer. Earlier scientific evidence showed there was no issue mixing brands of the vaccine (when there were discussions linking AZ to thrombosis) So if this trial is to check whether immunity is increased then I'm all for it.

On the subject of vaccinations, my eldest son tells me he was not given a date for his 2nd dose when he went for his 1st one on the 23rd March. Instructions from me to get that sorted asap!!

In NI, when you register online for jab 1, you are given a date/time for jab 2 - ours are early June. This is not filled in on the card you get with details of vaccine date and batch for jab 1. And reminders were sent a week, a day, 6hours and an hour before the 1st appointment, I imagine similar for 2nd.

So many diffferent ways of booking a vaccine in the UK..Wait for a letter, ring your GP or, like me, phone the dedicated Covid19 hotline on 119.

I didn't wait for my letter which actually came the following day.

When I rang to book for myself and husband I was given the dates for 1st and 2nd jab, time and venue. Texts arrived on our phone with confirmation details immediately.

My son received a letter inviting him to call the testing centre. He did and swears only first date was given. I've told him to check back in his texts as I think he may have missed seeing the 2nd one. We'll see!!

A long one this, but very informational - and given the plans of our fickle PM, probably worth a good listen - short chunks, though.

Needling, were they? LOL

Well done, @Anonymous, that grottiness feeling will have gone by tomorrow, the achy shoulder by Weds, assuming you got the AstraZeneca jab.

I don't feel bad at all, just the achey arm. (AZ)

(FYI my sister & my mum have both decided they don't want the jab)
