no point being loyal

ive been with o2 for well over 20 years, no point in being loyal though as discounts don't apply - an upgrade on my phone will set me back another 300 pounds a year - for things I don't want and not getting existing service of picture texts. ive decided to vote with my wallet and feet

o2 run a fair deal policy where both new and existing customers enjoy the same deals and offers.

Often looking at the independants such as CPW can bring up some better deals.

If you leave o2 then ensure the new network gives you stable signal where you live, work and commute.

Test it out by using their payg sim cards for a few weeks.

If your phone is locked to o2 then unlock for free here https://www.o2.co.uk/apps/help/help?qid=1&q1=2&route=unlocking&case=Handset%20Unlocking%20Form

You can still get some loyalty deals if you speak to the right people

O2 dropped their loyalty discounts some time back. Supposedly new and old customers are treated equally. You can, as Damien suggests, try speaking to retentions. It probably depends on who you speak to on the other end. If you're not being offered what you want, then maybe it's time to move on, but before you do, make sure you will get the same or better coverage with whichever provider you decide to move to. Sometimes what looks like a cheaper deal doesn't always work out like that if the coverage isn't as good.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2

You could always sell your current phone before you upgrade to help with your contract costs or if you are happy with your phone it might be worth looking into SIM only deals, it's cheaper that way
