Apologies if this has been discussed before ..however I feel I must have a morning moan about the
frequency that this forum logs me out!
I know I may be told its a 'security measure', but security for who? I am on my personal laptop in my house
and am the only person using my laptop. I find it so infuriating that I go away for a while to do other things
and even if it is only 30 minutes, the forum has logged me out. (Sometimes I am tempted not to bother
logging back on again)
I belong to two other forums and this logging out business does not happen there.
I personally would much prefer an option to log myself out.......
...........not have O2 decide 'thats it Cleo..your time is up!!'
(Please remember that not all of us are 'speedy gonzales' types, managing two and three devices all in one
go. Some of us (ME) plod on with our little laptops, trying hard to play catch up:smileywink:
NB: If someone now rocks up and says 'there is a setting to stop this happening' then please accept my
apologies in advance

I use Firefox with the extention ReloadEvery which auto refreshes at whatever interval you set it to. Saves being logged out but you do need to disable it when replying to a post otherwise the page can refresh halfway through a reply.

Hi guys
I understand it's frustrating - imagine how it is for us, who spend at least 8 hours a day on the community! The issue is that the forum logon is attached to MyO2 therefore security is number 1 priority. We're looking at all kind of options but not an easy one to solve, I'm afraid.

@Anonymous
Can the web team look at allowing the storing of the username and password on non shared computers via a checkbox and cookie? that would save the typing frustration in IE on safari on ipad and iphone it allows this so loging is quick and painless

@adamtemp64 We're actually working on a bigger piece around sign in, I doubt any changes can be implemented until the whole project is signed off. I can and will ask, though.

Blimey...look at that..I go away and come back to read @MI5 PM and not only have I NOT been logged out
but have got all sorts of responses
So...thanks Rich for the PM (apparently using Chrome may overcome this) however I am on Firefox so would be unable to change unless my other half agrees. (As he is the ruler of all things computer in our house)
I do, however have Chrome installed on my new HP Tablet....
@jonsieI could go with your option (though it does seem a bit of a fiddle):
Adam ...your suggestion seems fine with me and would help a lot I think....
BoB...lucky you, having Apple devices that allow you that option (I am still not turning to the dark side!!

Hi @Anonymous That looks promising. I know I keep saying this and realise it is difficult to cater for individual
needs.... but anything that makes the forum user friendly for all types, of all ages should be the aim I think?
