Can I be reverse-lookup'ed??

Hi all,

some wierdo has started leaving me threatening voicemails from a blocked number. I don't know who he is, where he got my number, or what he thinks I have done wrong! But now I am concerned - can he find anything else out about me from my number, i.e. by reverse lookup?

Cheers,

P

hi there
i know why your worried
but dont be
DPA is there for a reason and governed by a goverment body
so not unless you give these people your info.
and
report this to the police
even blocked numbers can be tracked but has to be done through the police

hope this helps

good luck

Have a look here:

Nuisance Calls

What this person is doing is illegal so report them. O2 can offer you a change of number but if you don't want to do that, go through the Nuisance Calls Bureau. They can involve the police if necessary but even a simple warning from them may stop this person.

Hope this helps

Ahh, I feel a sense of relief already slight_smile

Thank you both very much! I must admit this has been starting to interfere with my sense of wellbeing!

Inform O2's nuisence bureau soonest, they can be traced with no problems so you dont need to worry about that, if the calls become malicious then the police will be informed and further action will be taken, I would suggest that you also save your voice messages left by this person and any texts etc as evidence in case it gets to that stage.

Yes DPA is there for a reason but only works if the person you get through to is switched on.

Last week my phone gets barred and I'm told it's because I called and reported my phone as lost and wanted to upgrade. I know the O2 systems inside out and so could only have been a breach of DPA as the number is in my name but is not my phone IYSWIM.
