Sony have began the 4.4.4 rollout. Any news from anybody at o2 as to when we can expect the update?

Did you get the phone from O2 ? If so your stuck until they test it out for compatibility on their network.

If it's not from O2 and you don't get an O2 splash screen when you power it up then you should be able to get it as soon as it's released

Quick Settings includes Smart Screen Rotation, Record Screen for recording a video of your display
Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z2 Tablet will unlock when near SmartBand, SmartBand Talk or SmartWatch 3 thanks to Bluetooth Unlock feature

This is a HUUUUUGGGGEEE update in terms of features and includes near enough everything the Xperia Z3 has.

Although the update has started today, sony rolls out in some strange orders and it has been hit and miss as to predicting when.
At best educated guess I would say UK networks will get it before UK generic as has been the trend, and I would expect O2 UK to start rolling in.......

Don't expect anything anytime soon - O2 don't know much about it.

Possibly because you spoke to the social media team and they never hold information about firmwares until told by the software team

I update the rest of our Social Media team around software availability as & when I receive the info from our device teams. I've now updated them with details I've just received and i'll be sharing more info soon with everyone.

For now though, I can confirm we're working on getting the latest update to Z2 devices soon.
