No sound on Samsung Galaxy S2

Since last week I have no sound on my Samsung Galaxy S2 phone - no ringtone, alarm, music or videos won't play sound. However it works fine when earphones are plugged in - what can I do to get the sound back on my phone?

You could try a factory reset but if it's hardware related you might have to send it off for repair.
