We get many queries about adding O2 Extras on the Community

Here is a step-by-step guide on adding and removing Extras

Adding an Extra

When you upgrade or take out a new contract on O2 there is usually a choice of an Extra included with the new contract. Once you have completed the upgrade or application, you get to choose an Extra.

You will normally receive an email about your extra within 24 hours, an example here:

Follow the link arrowed in the email and you will be taken to My O2

choose extra.PNG

Click on each section to see the choice of available Extras

In this example I will show you the most common Extra chosen which is Disney+

Click on Disney+ and you will be taken to the next step

Confirm your choice

Follow the link in the email and you can then redeem your Extra

You will be then directed to the Disney+ screen

In the example the code has been redeemed

activate and redeem disney.PNG

Once redeemed you will need to activate Disney+

This can take anything from a few minutes up to 24 hours

You have 28 days to activate giving you an extra month if you already have a current subscription

If your current subscription has longer to run, you cannot piggy-back to extend it

You would need to use a different email address to register a new subscription

activate extra.PNG

Once activated your Extra will be ready to use and you can register

Click on the Start Streaming button to sign up

sign up disney.PNG

log in disney.PNG

Now you are all set to use Disney+ smiling

Once you are logged in you can check you have the O2 offer and your account will show as an O2 Subscription

That's it, all done and you can enjoy what Disney+ has to offer.

What happens when the O2 Subscription ends?

If you want to carry on yourself you will be charged the discounted price shown in My O2

Removing an Extra

If you want to cancel after or before the end date of the offer

Go to My O2

Scroll down to Extras

Click on the large + sign beneath the Extra

Then click on Manage Extra

Tick on the Do Not Auto Renew box and save

More information is available on the O2 website along with Q&A's.

Hi @Dave-O2 - just wondered if you’d found anything out since we last messaged here mid Feb? My d+ sub expires next week, so need to commit to either moving it to be billed via o2 or leaving it separate. Knowing if the unlink problem in the future is resolved or not would be helpful! Thanks!

It looks as though I have the same problem as @MarkE and others.

I have just opened a Club Lloyds bank account, which has Disney+ (with ads) as a benefit. When I go to my Disney+ account, it shows a subscription, and Manage on O2.

But I can't see any way to manage the subscription,. I had removed the auto-renew option a very long time ago. I found I could not follow the instructions in the guide, which begin "Go o My O2. Scroll down to Extras." I assume (but am not clear) that there was no Extras item to scroll down to because I don't actually have any current Extras. Between the Bolt Ons and the Spend Cap sections, which were visible, there is an section labelled Total Extra Charges, which just says I don't have any extra charges. I guess this is where Extras would be.

In line with your response to others, I have just sent you a PM with my phone number.

Excellent addition to this great guide. Well done O2 giving us the option to choose which Disney package suits the customer after our free extra expires.

What a ridiculous, long winded, stupid way to go about things. Yet ANOTHER O2 scam to set people up for failure, catch them out and charge them for something they thought they were getting for free. Like the "free" headphones with my new phone…just take a screenshot of your receipt to claim them, except the link to view the receipt goes to a dedicated dead end page, that itself goes nowhere. Luckily on that occasion I was able to fudge the link to get to the real page…still no headphones though.

Sorry, I couldn’t find an answer to this. If I already have Disney+ as a paid extra and I upgrade, do I have to cancel the paid extra before upgrading to then get it free again for 6 months? Thanks.
