Yesterday I joined o2 via Virgin and I provided my PAC code from the 3 network. My account seems to be set up online and my first bill is even showing  My new o2 sim arrived today and I have received a text from o2 telling me it was on its way and to text SWAP to 20220 when I receive it. Do I remove my old 3 sim, insert the new o2 one and then send the SWAP text? And will this change the temporary o2 number into my old 3 number? I’m finding the instructions I’ve read very confusing! Thanks in advance.

To be honest with you, I'd contact O2 to start the porting process.

Guide here Guide: Migration & porting into O2

If you message O2 on Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG) , they should be able to help you with this.
