I have smashed my screen whilst on holiday and am looking to replace my phone: like for like, what will this cost me? Or can I just get new phone instead of going for upgrade next year?

You don't need to upgrade. You can simply use the sim in the new phone but your contract will just continue and you will still be paying off the smashed phone until it is paid for.

Or just get the screen repaired if the phone is in otherwise still working order
