Tracking new order

I have just updated both of my daughters phones for Christmas. On the confirmation it says to check inbox to track the new phone. Does anyone know if these tracking details/ confirmation of deliver are sent as an email or text? If it is text can this be changed so that it isn’t received spoiling the surprise?Thank you

Dispatch notes and tracking details are sent as emails.

There may be some texts notifying of tariff changes though which cannot be changed, so have excuses ready for those.

You get an email when it's dispatched, you can then track it in my O2.
