I want to change my sim card as on the new sim card I can get unlimited calls and texts and 15GB of data for £10 a month rather than the bolt on I'm on now as I pay £20 and get unlimited calls and texts and 6GB a month so could save myself £10 a month

If you are eligible to upgrade then do so via My O2. By upgrading you always keep your number and your billing date is unchanged.

Tried texting the number 20220 to swap my number back, but it appears to be not working, when transferring my old number back to go over to Pay As You Go?

That won't work unfortunately.

You need to contact O2.
All numbers are in this guide Guide: Coronavirus Community Help and Support 
When you call, you will be asked for the reason you are calling.
Stay silent for 15 seconds and you will be taken to the keypad options.
Press 2 for Everything Else
Press 5 for More Options
Press 7 for Anything Else which will put you though to someone.
You can also try saying "Upgrade" or "Fraud" to be connected to an advisor.
8.00am is the best time to call if you can.

I have ordered a replacement SIM card as my current one is faulty, I have just recently topped it up with £10 as I jus reactivated the sim after years and f not using it. Would the money be transferred from the old sim to new sim when text SWAP to 20220? Thank you
