Confused with keeping my number from another provider.

I ordered a new SIM (pay monthly) from O2 and received it today. The instructions were simple, just pop it in my phone basically (it's my current phone and not a new one).

During the ordering process I provided them with my PAC from 3.

A few days ago I received an SMS message saying text SWAP to 20220, but I believe this is incorrect and only if you are swapping O2 to O2?

I got a message today which suggests I'm all up and running on my new O2 number (plus services are working so it's obviously activated).

Today I also filled in the form to keep my number but got an automated response from BluePrism saying they couldn't process my request because validation failed and I need to try again.

I'm really not sure what I need to do to keep my old number. The communication hasn't been great and the automated chat bots are too generic to be of any help.

Since I provided O2 with my PAC when I ordered the SIM do I just need to wait? Will they send me any information about this or do I need to chase them?

@ste137

Customer Services are the best people to deal with this, as if the PAC code has failed validation, it could be with either o2 or 3.

If you message O2 on Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG) , they should be able to help you with this or you can call 202 or 0344 809 0202

@ste137

Text SWAP to 20220 from your new O2 sim.

This indicates that the sim is activated and ready to receive your number.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Yes, it's sorted now, thanks. I got two SMS messages yesterday to say my number couldn't be ported and I needed to call, but when I tried to call I had no service, restarted and my number had changed over.
