How brilliant....

A child who is developing something to help with Braille...

Good for Intel in recognising potential...:smileywink:

I endorse that...of course many blind people do not use braille....and this could help them participate more ?

makes me wonder if the reason why they don't use it is because there isn't a lot of it available and because of the high cost of the existing printers they cant afford to use it...

I think you are right in some way with that...however there was always a stigma attached to Braille devices...and research developed other products....

An official statement here....

"The Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) estimates that about 4% of visually impaired children and young people in England currently use it."

I think the fact that this lad is being sponsored to develop his braille device further will bring it into the limelight...and the fact he is only 13 may help other kids to accept it... slight_smile
