Just because your phone is unlocked doesn't mean you'll get Samsung updates. Your firmware is still O2 so that is what Kies looks for when upgrading. So, short answer is you are still waiting for O2 but you now can flash the open Samsung firmware with Odin if you wish, once a European version is released.

Thanks MI5, I didnt realise that there is a european and international version of firmware, glad I asked, I would have been waiting a while for the update to appear on Kies then lol.

I think it will just be as handy to wait for the O2 version to appear!  I just hope the I9100 and I9100P firmware is released by O2 at the same time!

Don't want to disappoint, but, when O2 released ICS for the S2 the I9100 got it 2 months before the P version did :(. I would flash the European version as soon as Samsung release it then you will be only bound by Samsung updates which will come a lot quicker.

Hi sorry, just another question, my S2 is version 4.0.3 I9100PXXLPC, Build IML74K.XXLPH.

When I go on to sammobile it says there is 4.0.4 firmware available from O2UK.

United Kingdom (O2)2012 April4.0.4I9100PXXLPHI9100PO2ULP4

Why isnt Kies offering me 4.0.4?

Ive started the download from sammobile, can i run the files through kies or do i have to use another program to do it?

No idea about Kies, but it does strange things wink

You need Odin to run the upgrade from Sammobile. http://www.android.gs/download-odin-3-07/
