The beauty of Refresh. Pay off the device and give notice for the air time and you are free to go to another network or go sim only.

@Anonymous Just to add to the good advice given above, make sure your phone is unlocked, if it isn't already, before you cancel your airtime. If the phone isn't unlocked, call customer service and they will provide you with an unlock code.

You can also unlock it through the link in device details in your MyO2 http://www.o2.co.uk/myo2

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

Just a word of warning from my current experience, if you pay off your phone and do not want to renew the contract. You may end up wanting to use that phone on another provider, if you do you will need an unlock code for the phone from o2.

I've currently been waiting 4 weeks and have a locked phone and a replacement from o2 and still they cannot get the unlock to work.

It's not usually that difficult though but I appreciate the difficulties you are going through.
