You need either a qualifying office 365 subscription or in app purchace te edit / create but free to view all of the above types

As we have 2 office365 premium subscriptions through o2 business I will give them ago in a bit but adsl very slow here.

Agreed if you do not have a qualifying product but as I do it is a free app additional to what i had already as part of our subscription package.
I see this as a benefit to businesses more than consumers as not only do we get the pc versions of all the products but also get web hosting and exchange mail servers (using our own domain name) with massive storage for £10.10+ vat per subscription a month as per my link above we now have access to full word on ipad and not having to do it via safari online etc.

After a very quick test run of each app.
I can say the intergartion and implementation on ios is very good.
I can now open and edit the above file types in the apps from email attachments or documents stored on our companies shared folders.
As we work for the nhs all documents we get are in ms format. Now we can edite documents easily on the go and respond in a faster timescale to customers.
Will do more testing later if you want to know if you can do a specific task let me know and i will test it.
