Unlocking phone from Vodaphone

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi all - you helped me so much before when I purchased a Samsung Galaxy Ace phone - by the way I took all your advice and sent the phone back to O2 for a refund. Hope you can help me again please. I have a Galaxy S1 that was locked to Vodaphone, have had it unlocked, put in my old sim. The phone seems to be reading the card but it will not let me make calls, just says Emergency Calls only. I am on Pay as you Go Go so should be able to use it. Info just comes up 'Network not available'. Any help from you guys would be really appreciated. Thanks

APN's are only applicable to data - Voice is directly off the SIM card, which apparently it is showing as been recognised by O2 on the screen.....
It a strange one but we need to know if the phone will work with a different SIM card.....?

Hi,

It may be that the initilal Unlock from Vodaphone has not completed correctly or Vodaphone has imei blocked the handset itself for some reason.

You would need to go back to that Network and ask the question.

I assume if you place your O2 sim card in another phone all is Ok.

If not call O2 on 4445 or From a landline 0844 809 0222 5p / min.

What network SIM are you putting in it? Is it O2 or Voda?

Have you still got a Voda SIM to try in it?

Normally, if the phone was network locked, it would come up asking for a network key and not allow a foreign SIM to be read at all.
You need to check the phone with a Voda SIM as it may be blocked.

Just quickly check your postcode for any local issues http://status.o2.co.uk/
It would also be good to try another sim of any sort in the phone.
