Note: we have an updated guide on getting your PAC in the How-to Guides section, please see here.
If you want to contact O2 about leaving or getting a PAC, you can also use the Social links below:
Seen this a lot around the forum, so I thought I'd make a post on how to do it
Firstly, give O2 Customer Service a call on 4445 fron your O2 Mobile.
Select the option which is "Join or leave O2". Then in the next menu select the option "To leave O2".
Now, you will be put through to an advisor who will ask you for your name and phone number. Then ask them for your Port Authorisation Code. You will be asked for your security password if you have set one up with them. Don't worry if you havn't sent one up; if you don't have one then you will not need to give it to them.
You will be asked if you have a pen and paper ready to write the code down. Don't worry if you haven't because they post it out to you anyway. They will ask you for your name and address so they can post it to you.
O2 may ask for a reason for leaving and the Port Authorisation Code (PAC) is only valid from 30 days of issue. Provide your PAC code to another operator if you wish to keep your existing number from another network.

I just phoned, was told that I'd have a code, and that I'd be phoned back and was hung up on.
Code arrived no call back though.
Phoned again, ran out of credit, 'borrowed a quid' on hold and gave up after realising that I'd gotten through the first time but now there was a magical lack of telephone operators.

Just give the PAC to your new network. Do you need to speak to them again?

I was a bit concerned that it would take me ages after reading what has been said on this topic, but I have to say O2 on this occasion has been more than outstanding.
I didn't have to wait at all to be connected, despite the fact that I had the message saying they were busy etc...
The guy I spoke to was really good too. We did struggle a bit with the security question, but that was mainly my fault as I did not have my phone with the number I enquired about with me.
And he gave me the PAC Code straight away with no fuss, he did obviously ask me why I was leaving and after I explained, offered me a similar product from O2. But it didn't quite match so I declined and proceeded with getting the PAC Code.
The guy I spoke to, was really polite, efficient and professional ! It's quite rare I admit, but it does happen
From dialling to hanging up the whole thing lasted 8 minutes and less than 1min was waiting in queue.

Can anyone tell me if the landline payg freephone number (08008400202 or 08002300202?) for getting PAC works?
