Bad signal reception

Anonymous
Not applicable

I am having a bad next to non existent signal reception in my area indoors.
I live in Ladbroke Grove area W10 5BN to be precise.

While in my room I have shift of signal from max of 3 bars to 1 to sometimes "no service".

I have Iphone 5s 16bg SIM FREE.
I am PAY as YOU GO customer.

So far I have:
1. Replaced my sim card

2. Hard reset my mobile

3.Checked for latest os

4.Turned off celular data network. (in hopes that not using 3g can boost normal calling signal)

and nothing helps

Iphone itself is not faulty and non damaged. I tried to use sim card from my countries operater and it works perfectly. So I outruled that its phones fault. slight_smile

Can someone help me?

P.s- please dont refer me to "check your coverage" link because that is just lying. (according to it entire London has PERFECT indoor and outdoor signal)

Thank you slight_smile

Bambino Im sorry that you feel like you are "wasting" your precious time.
What I would suggest is to delete your accound and leave this to people who actually want to help.
If you cant help me please dont be a tool about it.
The location has been changed... And the circumstances too. Gove the time passed I believed that new solutions came up.
Please learn to communicate.... Otherwise i will report your behaviour

The signal status your handset shows is often wrong. If you dial *3001#12345#* and look at the Dbm in the top left corner.

Any over 100 Dbm is terrible signal and 55 Dbm is awesome signal.

I know this doesnt help improve your reception but at least youll know the signal strength

Hi

Help threads here http://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Pay-Monthly-and-Pay-Go/Self-help-guide-Is-the-network-down-for-me-or-ev...

http://status.o2.co.uk and check the planned maintenance tab at the bottom.

Download the MYNETWORK App and report the masts to 02.

http://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Pay-Monthly-and-Pay-Go/Do-you-have-poor-coverage-signal-Indoors-This-ma...

The network is suffering from congestion issues in parts of the uk as they update their network.

If you have home broadband wifi then you could use what's app and viber as examples as interim alternatives as long as the other parties are using those too.

the planed maintenance did not include any of my areas.
And on the coverage it said that everything looks "fine". *shocker
*3001#12345#* the signal strength is -120

As for the thread of Adam. I just saw it and it did not help my situation.
I already am turning off cellular data when indoors.
Still nothing.

Im not complaining about bad 3g Skype signal I am complaining about not being able to make a simple phone call. slight_smile
I literally yell along with my caller in our headsets:Hallo hallo??
Hilarious but not useful :DD

No network will guarantee a fault free 100% signal, particularly indoors. Have you always had this problem, or is the lack of reception recent?

As you're PAYG, the easiest solution is to try a PAYG sim from a different network to see if your reception is better. If it is, then use that network.

Then you should use a network that provides good signal where you live , work and commute.

Then you're on the wrong network. You need to try a different one.

If you've always had a signal issue, but you're happy with the international call rates to your country, and you don't want to use a different network, you'll just have to make those calls from a different location. There's really nothing else you can do.
