Any way to reduce plan if locked in to Feb 2024

I'm currently of a £25 per month 18month O2 contract as part of my last Virgin Bundle deal.

This runs out in Feb 2024.

Given the new price hikes that have just been announced, is there anyway to get my plan/monthly payments reduced.
Plan is 250gb data, unlimited calls, unlimited texts.

Ave useage is 14.5GB, 1hr, 15texts.

Somewhat overpaying it would appear.

Help appreciated.

@Gazo76

You can flex your data down which reduces the airtime payments.

Your options are under tariff change in your MYO2.

Calls and texts are unlimited on all contracts so no way to reduce those.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Thanks, but it is just showing the same £25 per month contract in my change tariff section.

It's the only tariff available.

Unfortunately, if that's all that is showing then you aren't on a flex tariff.

So even if I call them up there is no way they would agree to a reduced plan and monthly bill?

I doubt it, as what you can see is what they can see, and also be very aware if it forms part of your Virgin Media Fibre package, then they reserve the right to increase the cost of that service, as they are bundled together...

Just another Victim of Virgin Media's sales patter. The Volt Forum on Virgin is full of complaints re the way things were sold.

Sign up to an 18 month package with no mid contract price rises, but then fail to tell the customer this does not apply to the SIM

SIMS are sent out and O2 accounts are activated in the background, so few go to O2's site to read the terms and conditions, believing it will be the status quo for the next 18 months.

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

Check your price increase email from VM - mine states:

"If you're not happy with any of the changes announced in this email, including those to our out of home WiFi hotspots and pricing terms and conditions, you can change or cancel your package, including your Volt O₂ sim, any time before 4th April 2023, without paying any cancellation fees."

Unfortunately I'm currently struggling to find anyone from either company to acknowledge this 😡

I was considering sticking with o2 and just moving to PAYG, but I've been hold for 2 hours now, which has given me plenty of opportunity to shop around.

PAYG is not eligible for Volt Benefits and Virgin may want to renegotiate your BB package

I would get hold of your contracts from o2 and VM, and see what they say, as to be honest and I'll say it again it sounds like a VM #*&^%$ up

I would speak to Virgin as they sold you the contract...
